GoHere knows that you take your privacy seriously. We do, too. We are committed to giving you transparency of our privacy practices and control over your data in connection with our services (as set out in our Terms of Use, hereinafter “Services”). We provide these Services using services and technology of our partners. This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) and other data that we gather when you are accessing the Services.
What Personal Information Does Go we Collect?
- Personal Information You Provide to Us: We receive and store (or have stored) any information you enter on our platform or provide to us in any other way. The types of Personal Information collected may include your name, email address, Facebook usernames, contacts, use information regarding your use of our platform. We ask you to allow us to access your contacts only for the purpose to connect and share your app content with your contacts. We automatically receive your location when you use our Service through the app. We use various technologies to determine location, such as location services of the applicable operating system or browser and sensor data from your device that may, for example, provide information on nearby Wi-Fi- access points and cell towers. The Personal Information you provide is used for such purposes as providing you our Services, and thus allowing you to set up a user account and profile that can be used to interact with other users through the platform, improving the content of the platform, enabling you to share your recommendations and reviews with others, and content you and your friends share. Your account will be associated with your Facebook and this account will be used for all our Services that you use. We process (or have processed) your Personal Information also to prevent fraud and/or misuse of our Services.
- Information Collected Automatically: When you use our Services through the app, our system automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your mobile platform, including your location, Facebook data like profile image, friends, residence, place of birth and application IDs. Unless otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we only use this data in aggregate form. We may provide aggregate information to our partners about how our users, collectively, use our Services, so that our partners may also understand how often people use their services and our Services. We process (or have processed) this information to, e.g., to adapt the platform to your browser and device, to communicate with you in a language you speak, to show you recommendations, reviews and other content that relates to the location you are at, and to prevent fraud and/or misuse of our Services.
- Additionally, we process (or have processed) your Personal Information based on your (optional) consent. Any optional permission, e.g., for sharing your GPS-location-data can be withdrawn through the settings of your mobile device. The Facebook data permission can easily be withdrawn through your profile on Facebook under settings > apps and websites. You can separately withdraw your consent for the newsletter through an unsubscribe-link provided in each newsletter.
- We are under a legal obligation to store (or have stored) certain general information and payment data in our records for Tax Authorities.
Determining and Sharing Location
Determining your location – we deal with location, so in order to work, we need to know your location. Whenever you open and use/interact with our apps on your mobile device, we use the location information from your mobile device (e.g., latitude and longitude) to tailor the platform experience to your current location (i.e., we’ll suggest you to add your current location). Depending on your privacy settings (see “How Is My Information Shared” above), this information may be shared with others.
GoHere Features
The Services include several features that may allow you to share your information with others. Please remember that if you choose to provide Personal Information using certain features within the app, that information may be available to the wider community of services providers, or may be published on our sites, which is subject to indexing by third party search engines.
Sharing with Partners, in connection with business transfers, and for the protection of the platform we use, Services we deliver and others:
- Our Partners: In addition to the data sharing described above, we may enter into relationships with a variety of businesses and work closely with them. You can easily recognize when one of these businesses is associated with your transaction, and we will share your Personal Information that is related to such transactions with that business, e.g., the city or country focused local apps.
- Business Transfers: If we, or the partner that provide the platform and/or app allowing us to provide the Services or substantially all of our or their assets are acquired, or in the unlikely event that we or our partner go out of business or enter bankruptcy, users’ Personal Information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party.
- Protection: We may release Personal Information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary to comply with the law, including laws outside your country of residence; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our employees, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations (including outside of your country of residence) for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
- Business Transfers: If GoHere or substantially all of its assets are acquired, or in the unlikely event that GoHere goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party.

Is Personal Information About Me Secure?
Your account is similar to your Facebook account and protected by a password for your privacy and security. You need to prevent unauthorized access to your account and Personal Information by selecting and protecting your password appropriately and limiting access to your computer and browser by signing off after you have finished accessing your account. We endeavor to safeguard user information to ensure that user account information is kept private. However, we cannot guarantee the security of user account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information at any time. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another site, you should read the privacy policy stated on that site. We don’t control the content or links which appear on other websites, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites linked to or from our Services.This Privacy Policy only governs information collected via the apps through which we provide the Services.
At all times we work hard to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized or unlawful access, alteration, disclosure, use or destruction. We take appropriate and up-to-date technical and organizational measures, such as our employees have agreed to confidentiality, the access to Personal Information is limited on a need-to-know basis, and we use secure network connections.
How Can I Delete My Account Or Personal Information?
Send an e-mail to info@gohere.app if you want to delete your Personal Information or account. We process this request as fast as possible, but at least within 4 weeks after your request. We always send you a confirmation by e-mail when your data is deleted.
Or in case of iOS delete your account on the Platform via your profile.
In relation to your Personal Information, you have the following rights:
- You may request access to the Personal Information we process about you;
- You may request us to correct, update, or shield your Personal Information in our records. In the event of fraud, misuse of our Services, or other wrongful act, we may keep a record of you in order to prevent you to continue using our Services;
- You may request a copy of the Personal Information we have processed about you. We can also send this copy – at your request – to another data controller, so you don’t have to send the data yourself;
- You may file a complaint against processing your data;
- You may file a complaint with your National Data Protection Authority, if you are under the impression that we process your Personal Information unlawfully. In the case of the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens;
You may always withdraw your consent to process your Personal Information. From the moment you withdraw your consent, we will cease processing the Personal Information which we processed on the basis of your consent.
Will There Be Changes To This Privacy Policy?
We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used. Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when they use the app after such changes have been first posted.
